If the portions were large enough, I could definitely see myself using this for a few quick meals during the week.Sometime between college and starting out in New York as a broke media person, I became a "five-meal rotational chef," which is to say I’d make the same five simple meals at home over and over again. I feel like the recipes were limited to things that could be cooked quickly, so it's almost always gonna be some sautéd thing with a quick sauce, but it's still pretty good. Overall, the portions were probably too small for this to be worth it for me. The dish was good, though I wish there was more spice to it. Disappointing because I feel like they skimped on this one. Thoughts: Small portions, but lots of rice. Nepalese Chicken Tarkari with Garlic-Spinach Rice & Spiced Tomato Sauce Maybe adding some broth - or even some of the dried mushrooms from the pasta dish - something would’ve helped. Thoughts: Pretty solid dish, though I wish the sauce was a bit heartier. Only downside was that the parmesan cheese wasn’t high quality The dried mushrooms added a beautiful depth of flavor. The collared greens were pretty bland. The chicken was good, but it’s hard not to enjoy fried chickenįettuccine with Porcini Mushroom Bolognese The yogurt sauce was too watery (which could be my fault for buying a different greek yogurt) and there wasn’t anything special about the flavor combination. The salad alone was a really interesting combination of ingredients I don’t usually use and the lemon flavors blended perfectly with the cod.įried Chicken with Baked Sweet Potato and Collared Greens Overcooked the salmon a bit, but the flavors worked together incredibly. Good meal, good ingredients, and super quick, but nothing life-changing.ĭukka-Spiced Cod with Warm Beet, Arugula and Carrot Salad Thoughts: The steak was very high quality, though a bit small for one serving (at least in my opinion - I’m a 6’4” dude so I usually have larger portions.) The flavors in the kimchi rice were really interesting, though the rice was a bit dry, and would’ve probably been better if it included more aromatics (garlic, shallot, etc.) Could partially be my fault for cooking it on the skillet a minute or two longer. For background, I consider myself a more-experienced-than-average home cook
